Master of Legal Studies Program Overview

Emory University School of Law offers a Master of Legal Studies that prepares students with the skills to navigate and excel not only in their organizations but in their industries as a whole. Students will progress through online, practical coursework to gain a understanding of the legal landscape, regulatory frameworks governing an array of industries, and the nuances of federal and state governance. Graduates of the program will be positioned for success in today’s dynamic professional landscape.

Our 30-credit MLS degree program can be completed on a flexible schedule, allowing working professionals and those with personal commitments to earn their degree without sacrificing their responsibilities. Though our coursework is primarily asynchronous, two virtual synchronous experiences at the beginning and end of the program give students the chance to connect with their classmates and gain a deeper understanding of the material.

Earn an MLS Degree Tailored to Your Career Interests

A legal studies master’s degree can benefit professionals in a variety of fields by offering an expansive introduction to the law and the US legal system. We understand that our students each have individual career goals, so we offer four concentration options for students to specialize their learning:

  • Business Law and Regulation
  • Health Care Law, Policy, and Regulation
  • Employment Law and Human Resources
  • Cybersecurity, Privacy, and Technology Law

The concentration courses strategically build concepts upon each other and serve as a flexible framework for students to tailor their studies. If students would rather build their own plan of study, they have the opportunity to do that as well through a range of elective options.
